The first census she appears on is the 1920 census (lines 69-73). She lived on Sheriff Street in Manhattan with her father, mother, and brothers Samuel and Bernie. Her brother David, who later testified against her in court, was not yet born. Her father was a mechanic and his trade fit in with the trades of the rest of the building which included a presser, waiter, peddler, tailor, and two butchers.

The Rosenbergs were arrested in 1950 and convicted under the Espionage Act of 1917 and executed on June 19, 1953, the first American civilians to be executed for such charges and the first to be executed during peacetime.
